Anne Gentle read from her book, Conversation and Community: The Social Web for Documentation, at South by Southwest Interactive (SXSWi) on Tuesday, March 16 in Austin, TX. She had an attentive crowd that asked some great questions; clearly social media folks are interested in technical communication and technical communicators are interested in social media.
Anne’s book has received a lot of favorable attention for addressing the intersection of technical communication and social media, and it is quickly becoming the “must read” social media book for technical communicators and those who work with them.
Conversation and Community is available from the major on-line retailers, including Barnes and Noble and Amazon, and in selected bookstores. It is scheduled to come out in electronic form for the Kindle and other popular ebook readers in April.
Anne signed books at the SXSW bookstore after the reading, where she met Brenda Huettner, author of the forthcoming book, Communicating with Everyone (see picture below).
There are more pictures from the event, along with additional information at the Conversation and Community page on Facebook.
